A Co Armagh man charged with a firearms offence and unlawful detention of another man in Walkinstown, Dublin, was freed on conditional bail by the High Court yesterday.

Mr Declan Duffy (26), from Co Armagh with an address at Fatima Mansions, Dublin, undertook to live at his girlfriend's address at Hanover Street West, Dublin, and was ordered by Mr Justice Quirke not to go outside between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Mr Duffy is accused of having a shotgun for an unlawful purpose and with restricting the personal liberty of Mr David Hooper without his consent by binding his hands and legs at the Ballymount Industrial Estate, Walkinstown, on October 6th last.

He was released on his own bail of £100 and an independent surety of £30,000.

He also left £3,000 in cash with the court.

He was ordered to sign twice daily at Kevin Street Garda station, observe the terms of the curfew, surrender his passport and undertake not to apply for one during his period of bail.
