Gardaí are today investigating a raid on a security van in south Dublin in which two bags containing an undisclosed sum of money were taken.

The raid was carried out by two unmasked men on a Securicor van in Nutgrove Shopping Centre at 9am today.

It is not clear whether the men, who fled in a red car, were armed.

Local Fianna Fáil councillor Garry Keegan said the raid underlined the determination of Dublin’s gun gangs to intimidate communities despite the efforts of the gardaí.
