Australia won the women's swimming competition, beating the United States 89-60 in the gold-medal team event at the Goodwill Games today.
Butterflier Petria Thomas, battling an ankle injury, won all of her four events. She raced 15 times at the meet.
The world 100 metres and 200 metres butterfly champion is undergoing surgery on September 10th to mend worn ankle ligaments.
"All of the ligaments in my ankle are virtually not working and I've got a bone spur in the back of my ankle that impinges when I kick," Thomas said.
"It's really painful when I'm training and when I'm racing".
The Australians clinched the team gold when they reached 75 points with three events remaining.
Earlier, the European Allstars won the team bronze medal beating the World Allstars 92-57.
