. August 8th 1995 Ms Maureen Bambrick (89), suffered a broken hip during a mugging in Harold's Cross, Dublin. She died on September 30th.

. August 22nd Mr Dinny Byrne (75), his sister Betty (73), and brother Joe (69), were in bed in their home near Blackrock, Co Louth, when four men broke into the house shortly before midnight. They were threatened with having their fingers cut off and robbed of £13,000 in cash.

. September 30th Mr Peter Boyce (80), and his brother Denis (78), were beaten by two men who broke into their house near Ramelton, Co Donegal at about 10 pm and robbed of £360.

. October 12th Mr Martin O'Brien (73), and his twin, William, were attacked and tied up in their home in Croagh, Co Limerick. Mr William O'Brien received stitches to the head £500 was taken.

. December 10th Mr James Kelly (81), and Mr Patrick Gardiner (71), were attacked in separate incidents near Portumna, Co Galway. Mr Kelly was burned and beaten. Mr Gardiner was beaten. Both were tied to chairs.

. January 3rd 1996 Seven raids took place on the homes of elderly people living alone one was in Co Longford, two near Tuam and four in Co Roscommon.
