Planned strike action by cash delivery crews at Brinks Allied due to start tomorrow has been deferred.
Today's move by Siptu members follows the intervention of the Labour Court yesterday in a dispute that has affected cash replenishment at around 240 ATMs in Dublin and the North East.
The Labour Court said it would issue a recommendation tomorrow - the day pickets were due to be placed at the Brinks Clonshaugh depot in north Dublin.
Siptu security services branch secretary Mr Kevin McMahon said today that his members had decided to hold off on their action to see the recommendation in accordance to a request from the Labour Court.
Mr McMahon said the strike action had been deferred until Monday pending the outcome of a ballot on the proposals tomorrow evening.
The dispute centres on the introduction of new cash delivery vans and operating procedures that workers claim would leave them more vulnerable to attack during armed robberies. Of particular concern is an instruction for crews to drive away from a robbery even if one their members is outside the van and exposed to danger.
Workers say management introduced the new measures without a health and safety review and contrary to agreed consultation procedures at the company.
