A dispute between the Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland (ASTI) and a member of its standing committee has not yet been resolved, the High Court was told yesterday.
Last month Mr Bernard Lynch, a member of the ASTI's executive and standing committee, applied for an order to restrain the association excluding him from committee meetings.
The court was told Mr Lynch had initiated his proceedings against a background of "heated differences" within the ASTI. The union contended Mr Lynch had disrupted committee meetings.
On Thursday Mr Paul Gardiner SC, for Mr Lynch, told Mr Justice Lavan there had been a "hiccup" in efforts to secure a resolution. He asked it be mentioned next week with a view to fixing a date.
Mr Justice Lavan adjourned the case to Thursday next.
