CRAFTWORK from last year's Leaving Cert art exam is still missing and more mistakes have come to light, the Department of Education has confirmed.
A spokeswoman for the Department said an extra candidate had been added to the list of pupils whose appeals had not been correctly processed, bringing the total number to 48.
She confirmed that two more cases of missing craftwork marks have emerged, and that one student in Castlecomer Community School was not credited with marks for design work, despite an appeal.
The Fianna Fail spokesman on education, Mr Micheal Martin, last night called for a complete recheck of all 11,000 art entries in the exam.
The Minister for Education, Ms Breathnach, said in reply to a Dail question that most of the missing craftwork - including pottery, calligraphy, screen printing, sculpture, and jewellery - had not yet been located.
