A teenager has been arrested in Dundalk in connection with a shooting incident at Smithfield horse fair in Dublin on March 6th.
He is being detained at Store Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. He was arrested yesterday.
Two men were wounded in the incident at the monthly market in Dublin's city centre which was attended by up to 4,500 horse traders and spectators. They were treated at the Mater hospital.
A third man was injured from a slash hook. A home-made shotgun was recovered at the scene and a handgun was later found in the Oliver Bond Street area in the south inner city.
John Keniry (41), Rainsford Avenue, Thomas Court in Dublin was charged with unlawful possession of a Webley .22 calibre revolver in relation to the same incident on March 9th.
