Gardaí investigating the murder of Christy Hanley in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, in May arrested a man (46) in Dublin city today.
According to gardaí, the man was arrested at about 2pm and is being held at Athlone Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
Mr Hanley (83) was found dead in his home in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, on Thursday, May 22nd following an anonymous phone call to a Midlands Garda station.
He bred and traded horses locally but was best known for his roulette wheel on street stalls at race meetings and town fairs around the country.
