Gardaí are searching for two men following an armed robbery in Co Cavan yesterday.
The raiders entered the Bank of Ireland branch on the main street at Kingscourt at 11.30am. One of them was armed with a handgun which he used to threaten staff and demand money. The pair left with an “unsubstantial sum” of money, a Garda spokesman said.
No one was injured and no shots were fired. The men drove away in a waiting blue Toyota car. Their escape route was blocked by a lorry so the car was driven up a one-way street before it left the town.
