A young couple who suffered severe burns in the Omagh bombing last August were married in the town on Saturday.
Ms Donna Marie Keyes was greeted with a round of applause from hundreds of well-wishers as she arrived for the wedding.
Ms Keyes (23) married Mr Garry McGillion (24). The couple had been due to get married a week after the explosion, but the wedding had to be postponed because of their injuries. Ms Keyes was given only a slim chance of survival after suffering severe burns to two-thirds of her body. Mr McGillion suffered burns to 35 per cent of his body.
More than 180 guests attended the ceremony in the Sacred Heart Church, Omagh. Among those present were others severely injured in the explosion.
The bride arrived at the church five minutes early and smiled and joked with onlookers as she emerged from the wedding limousine on the arm of her father, Mr Malachy Keyes. Ms Keyes celebrated her 23rd birthday the previous day.
The local curate, Father John Forbes, described the couple as being "strong in character, kind and gentle in their personality, and very loving in the way they live".
Among the five priests who joined in the ceremony was the Belfast hospital chaplain, Father Pat Sheehan, who anointed Ms Keyes as she fought for survival in the days after the blast. He asked the congregation to specially remember Mr McGillion's young niece and godchild, Ms Breda Devine, who died in the explosion. The youngster was to have been a flower-girl.
During the marriage ceremony, a message of congratulations was read from the President, Mrs McAleese.
