Gardaí are appealing to the public for help in establishing circumstances surrounding the death of a man aged 44 in Cork city over the weekend.
Officers at Anglesea Street station set up an inquiry after a man who had been in Garda custody died. He was arrested at 7pm on Friday after reports of a public order disturbance. His condition worsened and he was taken to Cork University Hospital early on Saturday morning but was pronounced dead about 3pm on Saturday.
