Gardaí have issued an appeal on behalf of the Police Service of Northern Ireland over the whereabouts of a 1 year-old boy went missing from a residential home in Derry on Friday.

The PSNI suspect the boy was taken by his mother during a scheduled visit around 10:50am.

It is believed that the mother and child may be in the Cork area. Anyone who has seen the woman, who is described as 5'5" tall, of heavy build with auburn hair tied back, with the child who is dressed in a grey hooded top, blue jeans and brown shoes, or knows of their current whereabouts is asked to contact the police at Strand Road in Derry 048 90650222.
