Kuala Lumpur- Former Malaysian finance minister Anwar Ibrahim was taken from hospital by police yesterday and said he was feeling well after three weeks of tests for arsenic poisoning.

One of Anwar's lawyers, Pawancheek Merican, said the ex-minister would be transferred to Sungai Buloh prison where he is serving a six-year term for corruption.

Anwar waved to reporters as he left National University Hospital. Asked how he felt, he said: "Fine, thank you."

Anwar, who is standing trial on one sodomy count, was taken to hospital on September 10 after alleging he had been poisoned with arsenic.
