A clerk in An Post's Savings Bank head office who took more than £2,000 by fraud to feed a heroin habit has been remanded on bail to continue drugs detoxification treatment.
Kim Bieninda began smoking cannabis when she was 15 and became a heroin addict when 17. She is now 22 and asked Swords District Court to put her in custody recently so she could start getting off drugs, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was told.
Bieninda, of Glasmore Park, Swords, Co Dublin, admitted six sample charges of forgery and obtaining money by false pretences from An Post in 1994 while employed as a clerical assistant. She had no previous convictions.
Judge Gerard Buchanan remanded her on bail to July 12th.
