Tel Aviv - State-owned El Al Israel Airlines has launched a drive to recruit Arab employees following allegations that it discriminates against the Jewish state's Arab minority.
El Al spokesman, Mr Nachman Klieman, denied yesterday the recruitment effort was spurred by recent allegations of racism, saying the airline was seeking Arab employees to cater to an expanding Arabic-speaking passenger base.
"We wanted to advertise because the Arab population is a very important growing market segment. Many Arabs are becoming increasingly affluent and travelling to visit families overseas," he said.
