Maputo - A UN relief agency appealed yesterday for more aircraft to deliver food aid in Mozambique as flood waters on the Limpopo River threatened to swamp the southern town of Chokwe for a second time. Five planes and 13 helicopters were needed to replace aircraft being withdrawn by international military forces, said a World Food Programme spokeswoman.

Heavy rains in Mozambique, hit by floods since last month, have again cut key roads and the Foreign Minister, Mr Leonardo Simao, yesterday warned of a new deluge.
