A sick child and her parents were transported by air ambulance to Whythenshaw Hospital in Manchester on Sunday night.
The child was flown at 7.45pm from Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel on an Air Corps AW139 helicopter to Manchester, where she was transferred to hospital. This was the 33rd air ambulance mission carried out by the Air Corps so far this year. There were 69 missions in 2010, mostly involving neo-natal or transplant patients.
