Brussels - More than half of the people in Belgium who have been diagnosed as suffering from AIDS since the outbreak began in the mid-1980s have died, according to a study published yesterday.
The study, published by the health ministry, showed that up to the end of 1996 a total of 2,286 people had been diagnosed as having clinical Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome symptoms, of whom 1,376 are known to have died.
