The funeral will take place today of the actor Aiden Grennell, who died last Saturday at the age of 81. Mr Grennell's body will be taken from Terenure College chapel to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin, at 10 a.m.
Mr Grennell's acting career spanned 50 years and began at the Abbey School of Acting. He played his first parts with the Abbey Theatre and toured Northern Ireland during the second World War, playing to the allied forces. He worked at the Dublin Gate Company (EdwardsMacLiammoir) and Longford Productions.
His last performance on air was in November when he was involved in a production of The Importance of Being Ernest for RTE.
Mr Grennell died at Mount Carmel Hospital, Dublin, and is survived by his wife Iris, his daughter Mariane and sons Michael and Nicholas.
