Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will address a major conference on sustainable energy in Dublin today.
The Energy Forum 2008 will also be addressed by a number of key cabinet Ministers. Other issues being addressed include new building regulations and bioenergy.
Mr Ahern is expected to discuss the implications that a move towards sustainable energy will have for Ireland's economy in job creation and inward investment.
Sustainable energy sources are energy sources that are considered renewable and can be provided without compromising the ability of future generations from meeting their needs.
