Greg Rusedski could offer only token resistance as he was sent spinning out of the Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami by an Andre Agassi at his whirlwind best.
The defending champion dispatched Rusedski 6-3 6-1 in the second round, taking just 23 minutes to race through each set as even two rain delays failed to slow his intense tempo.
The British number two never had the time to get his renowned serve up to speed, serving just five aces and falling well short of the power that has terrorised opponents in the past.
Agassi, arguably the world's best returner, responded by winning 16 of the 19 points on Rusedski's second serve on his way to four breaks while his increasingly forlorn opponent failed to earn a single break point.
