Lusaka - African defence and foreign ministers yesterday endorsed a long-delayed draft ceasefire document designed to end a crippling war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"The parties agree to a ceasefire among all their forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo," said the document endorsed by the Congo government and its southern African military allies, Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The two rebel factions and their backers, Rwanda and Uganda, also adopted the deal.
