Siptu said today a union proposal to resolve the dispute at Aer Lingus was accepted by the company.
The dispute centres on the carrier's announcement that it will unilaterally implement a controversial €10 million cost-cutting plan at the airline.
At a meeting in Dublin airport today, Siptu shop stewards adopted a resolution that rejected the company plan to unilaterally implement management proposals, as outlined in a letter of May 14th.
But the resolution said the shop stewards committee "has unanimously endorsed a proposal for an interim agreement to allow the implementation of the proposals in the areas which have accepted them."
"Parallel discussions will commence to find a resolution for the sections which rejected the proposals, which would be held under the auspices of a third party," the resolution added.
This resolution was forwarded to Aer Lingus management, which has agreed to enter a process with the union, Siptu added.
The airline had earlier said that it will implement more flexible working arrangements in all of its ground operations areas, except aircraft loading, between now and the end of June.
