A vote for Sinn Fein in the forthcoming Westminster election would be a vote against British government intransigence over the peace process, Mr Gerry Adams said last night when he launched his party's election campaign in the new West Tyrone constituency.
Addressing a crowd of 300 in Carrickmore, Mr Adams said the West Tyrone seat was winnable, and he urged supporters to chase every vote.
The Sinn Fein president praised Mr John Hume, but stressed that republicans had a different political analysis from the SDLP. Sinn Fein's analysis had been vindicated by British government begrudgery and unionist intransigence, he said.
