Hollywood actor and native Corkman Cillian Murphy has become the latest personality to voice his support for the Vita Cortex workers in Cork.
“I salute your refusal to accept what is an obvious injustice. I wish ye strength,” he said.
Murphy’s message of support came on day 70 of the sit-in by 32 workers in a campaign for redundancy entitlements at the former foam packaging factory.
Meanwhile, Cork-based singer-songwriter John Spillane is to perform at a candlelit vigil organised by family and friends of the workers next week. Members of the public have been invited to “stand in solidarity” with the workers at 7.30pm on Friday, March 2nd.
