BAFTA-award winning actor Chris Langham appeared in court today charged with nine child sex offences and 15 counts of making indecent images of children.
The actor appeared before magistrates in Sevenoakes and was released on conditional bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 6th over the nine charges.
He will appear at the same court on October 2nd over the 15 other charges.
The 57-year-old star of BBC political comedy "The Thick Of It" said after the charges were brought on Wednesday that he was determined to clear his name.
A court official said Langham had been told that one of the conditions of his bail was that he must not contact three people directly or indirectly and he must have no unsupervised access to any person under the age of 16.
Langham said he would withdraw from all BBC projects pending the outcome of the case.
