A spokesman for ACC said last night the bank had no comment to make on the Durkan affair. He confirmed that ACC lawyers had met those representing the PAC last week, and discussed the issue of the £20,000, but "never objected" to Mr Durkan's questioning of the bank.
He said ACC saw the stories that emerged at the weekend about the bank's former chairwoman, Ms Gary Joyce, and the reports of Mr Durkan's loan as "unrelated". He said the bank had nothing to add on these matters.
