IMAGINE the disappointment of the city's PR fiends gathered in the Shelbourne on Monday to hear words of wisdom from Lynne Franks, PR guru and supposed model for Jennifer Saunders's character in Absolutely Fabulous, only to hear about nothing other than crystals, therapy and "centring". However Puffin Moynihan, Caroline Kennedy, Mary McGovern; D-Side editor Melanie Morris (who worked with Franks in London); Hospice Foundation cbairwoman Marie Donnelly and Jackie Dawson all managed to contain their disappointment and even have a nearly fabulous time.
At least there was some interesting news to keep them going - Jackie. Dawson was fresh off the plane from Paris with a new ring on her finger. Cameron Good, son of Val and Courtney Good of Kinsale, had surprised her with a trip abroad and a proposal to boot. Brown Thomas's Dolores Delaney was also looking further afield; after 10 years with the store she is leaving this week and says her only plan for the future is a trip to Marbella with her mother.
