The controversial abortion ship the Auroraleft Cork harbour this afternoon to return to the Netherlands.
The Dutch-based Women on Waves group docked in Irish waters 10 days ago and spent a short time in Dublin before traveling onto Cork.
A spokeswoman for the Irish branch of the group told ireland.comthis evening that members of the group intend to come back to Ireland in the coming weeks to keep in touch with various groups they had met during their stay here.
Although the ship’s arrival in Ireland was greeted by protests by pro-life groups, today’s departure sparked little interest.
