The days may be getting longer as the end of January approaches, but traffic jams around the country seem set to follow suit as a fresh wave of roadworks begins.

Motorists in Dublin will face regular single-lane closures for northbound and southbound traffic between Loughlinstown roundabout and Cabinteely from this weekend due to work on the new N11 bus corridor and the Wyatville interchange.

The works will take place during off-peak hours until the end of January.

The northern access from Sandyford Road to Sandyford village will close temporarily from today, Friday, until Tuesday February 3rd.

The closure is to facilitate the construction of the newly realigned Sandyford Road tie-in to the existing road network. Only the southern access to the village will remain open during this period. Traffic will be diverted via Hillcrest Rd/Sandyford Road and vice versa. Local diversions will be in place close to the road closure point, according to AA Roadwatch.
