London - The number of people going hungry in the Third World has fallen, according to the first country-by-country report on world hunger published yesterday. The United Nations report reveals almost 800 million people in the developing world do not have enough to eat.
This is 40 million fewer than in 1992. But the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation said the fall had occurred in only 37 countries. The rest of the developing world has seen a rise of almost 60 million more undernourished people.
