London - The lure of TV infamy and lucrative spin-off careers has prompted more than 50,000 applications to appear on the new series of Big Brother, producers said yesterday. The flood of entries marks a tenfold increase on last year which saw contestants go on to land record deals or even their own TV shows.
Channel 4 and the show's devisers yesterday announced plans for the next series, which will begin at the end of this month, and showed off the new look house.
