Five people with addresses in Greater Manchester were charged in Dublin with drug trafficking yesterday after the weekend seizure of 22 kilos of heroin, 48 1/2 kilos of cannabis and five kilos of amphetamine.
Mr Patrick Joseph Orr (52) with an address in Oldham, was charged with possession with intent to supply on three counts at Dublin District Court. He was remanded to appear next Monday.
A file is expected to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions on a 48-year-old woman who was with arrested with Mr Orr. She was released after being questioned at Store Street Garda station.
Four people were charged in connection with the seizures at Dun Laoghaire District Court yesterday afternoon.
Mr Gary Blake, Ms Cheryl Hulme, Ms Joanna Schofield and Mr Robert Carr-Russell were remanded to appear in the court on Monday at 10.30 a.m.
