A claim by Bank of Ireland for some €3million against the acting manager of Glasgow Celtic Football Club Neil Lennon under a guarantee allegedly provided by him for a loan to a building company is to go to full hearing this year.

The bank has admitted it has lost the actual guarantee but insists it can produce evidence Mr Lennon signed it at Dublin airport in February 2006.

Summary judgement proceedings against Mr Lennon were brought in the Commercial Court last month, when the matter was listed for yesterday, but it did not proceed because the sides agreed days earlier the case should go to full plenary hearing and informed Mr Justice Peter Kelly of that.

In those circumstances, the judge made directions for the exchange of legal documents between the sides, and listed the matter for mention again on July 12th.
