Dhaka - At least 29 people died and more than 200 were missing after two passenger ferries sank in eastern Bangladesh after being hit by a storm on the Meghna river.
In eastern Brahmanbaria, where the first ferry carrying about 150 passengers went down, 28 bodies were recovered. Another small ferry with 150 people on board sank in the Narsingdi district. Sixty passengers swam ashore and a woman's body was recovered from the water.
