Twenty-five people have been arrested, charged and released on bail by gardaí investigating the sale and supply of drugs in north Dublin.

A Garda spokesman said more than 80 charges had been brought against the 25 people, who were detained over the last 48 hours in the Coolock area as part of 'Operation Boa'.

Quantities of heroin, cocaine, cash and ammunition have been seized during searches carried out as part of the operation in recent days.

The covert operation has been running for six months and gardaí say it has "dismantled a number of significant drug distribution networks" in the Darndale and Belcamp areas.

Fifteen others have been arrested and charged during the earlier stages of the operation.

"The focus of this operation has been to gather evidence against significant drug dealers in local communities and ensure these persons are brought before the courts," the spokesman added.
