A man and woman were detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station in Dublin last night after an operation in which the Garda seized £1 million worth of heroin.
Members of the Ronanstown/Ballyfermot drugs unit, backed by the dog unit, had earlier intercepted a one-kilo package of the drug at a local postal sorting office. The package was addressed to a house in Croftwood Park, Cherry Orchard where, following a controlled delivery, the two were later arrested. i.
They are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. It is one of the largest heroin seizures made this year.
