Ireland's allocation of funding from EU Community initiatives such as Leader and the Interreg programmes for 2000-2006 will be €166 million (£130.6 million), Patrick Smyth writes from Brussels.
Ireland will receive €84 million under Interreg, for crossBorder, transnational and inter-regional co-operation projects.
Under the Equal programme for combating discrimination and unequal access to work, the Irish allocation is some €32 million, while the Leader programme is to get €45 million for rural development. The allocation to the Urban programme for inner-city renewal is €5 million.
