WorldPort Communications's web-hosting facility in Dublin is to close with the loss of up to 125 jobs, according to company sources.
The Chicago-based web and WAP service provider issued its workers with redundancy notices this afternoon, saying the company’s European headquarters in Blanchardstown would close.
WorldPort’s $100 million web hosting center opened in Dublin in October 2000.
Management could not be contacted this evening to confirm the company’s decision to pull out of Ireland.
