A barber who nicked a boy's ear while cutting his hair has paid him £1,551 in damages. The Circuit Court president, Mr Justice Esmond Smyth, yesterday ruled that the lodgement by hairdresser Mr Paul Doggett, Crumlin, Dublin, should be invested on the boy's behalf.
Mr John Doherty, counsel for Gary Keegan (14), of Crumlin, said little notice was taken of a small cut to the boy's ear at the barber shop two years ago until it became infected and needed medical treatment a week later.
