A man appeared at Naas District Court yesterday charged with the murder of his infant son early on Tuesday. Mr Yusuf Alli Abdi, with an address at College Road, Clane, Co Kildare, was charged with the murder of 19-month-old Nathan Alli on April 17th last. At the short hearing, the court was told that when Mr Abdi was charged he said: "I don't know, nothing to say, I'm not in good stead, I'm so upset my son is dead."
Judge William Early granted the defendant free legal aid and he was remanded in custody until Wednesday, April 25th.
