Forget Me Not is the name of a bright new gift shop recently opened in Murtagh’s Courtyard in Ashbourne, Co Meath. It features a colourful mix of inexpensive, feel-good gifts, according to owner Lillian Murtagh, along with some furniture.
One of the most popular items is a little East of India bookmark, for €2.60, with the words: “Friends are like stars, you don’t have to see them to know that they’re there.” This cardboard castle (below), for €50, which children love, is another attraction and a great birthday gift, but the shop caters for all occasions when a present is called for, from Avoca cookery books and ceramic bowls to prints and paintings.
