Chalk Hill The Procrastinator, McLaren Vale, Australia 2008, 14.5%, €11.99.Unoaked. A blend of 70 per cent old Cabernet Franc vines from a single vineyard and 30 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a weighty mouthful of bramble fruit, spice and tobacco. Full-bodied, beefy wine with fairly robust tannins, it would come into its own with steak or barbecued meat. Minimal filtration, so there is a little sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
