Help out on your holidays
How about helping to restore a lighthouse in Iceland, build a classroom in Tanzania or harvest olives with a farmers’ co-operative in Palestine for your holidays? Voluntary Service International (vsi.ie) is holding two information events in Dublin. The first is today at the Central Hotel, on Exchequer Street, from 11am.
The second is next Thursday at 6.15pm at Dublin Central Library, in the Ilac Centre. You can find out about short-term volunteer projects, lasting between 10 days and two months, that will allow you to assist with a variety of projects of benefit to local communities. Other projects include running a summer play scheme for the children of asylum seekers in Co Meath and replanting mangrove trees on the Indonesian island of Java.
