GAA culture night
GAA Museum, Croke Park, Dublin, 01-8192323, http://museum.gaa.ie
We're smack in the middle of the Championship finals - the Cats have already brought the Liam MacCarthy trophy home to Kilkenny, and next Sunday Kerry take on Tyrone in the football finals, with the famous Sam Maguire silverware (right) up for grabs.
The GAA Museum at Croke Park is in the thick of the action with a whole series of child-friendly events to mark the finals - and the Culture Night Floodlight Tour, next Friday, looks the most fun. Starting at 6pm, there's a tour every every 15 minutes until 9.45pm. It's a chance to see the stadium when it's eerily quiet and drop into the brilliant museum to try on an Iron Age helmet or play hurling with a horsehair sliotar.
Dress:Warm. It's bound to be chilly.
Admission:Free on Culture Night. (Admission to the museum and stadium tour is usually €10.50 for adults, €7 for children and €28 for families; under-fives free.)
Booking:Essential for Culture Night at 01-8192361 or soregan@crokepark.ie
If that doesn't suit:Next Saturday there's an All-Stars Art Attack at the GAA Museum - art workshops focusing on the football finalists' team colours. 10.30am-12.30pm. Six-plus. €4. Booking essential. Brilliant for Kerry and Tyrone families who get to Dublin early.
