SUZANNE DILLON AND EOIN LYNAM were married at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Aughrim, Co Wicklow by Mgr John Deasy, a cousin of the groom’s mother. They held their reception at Brooklodge in Macreddin village, where many of their guests stayed on a second night to celebrate a number of birthdays.
Suzanne grew up in Rathfarnham with three sisters and one brother and is the daughter of Matt and Valerie Dillon. She attended DIT and graduated from Trinity College with a BSc degree in marketing administration. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Eoin grew up in Kelly’s Hotel on South Great George’s Street in Dublin, which is run by his parents Tom and Paula Lynam. He attended St Mary’s College in Rathmines and Rockwell College in Cashel, Co Tipperary. He studied at DIT, Dublin City University, and is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, with an MA in international marketing.
The couple first met in 2002 when they were both working in GE Money – Suzanne in human resources and Eoin in marketing. It took a while for Eoin to convince her to go out for their first date, he says (more than two years, in fact, and she waited until she had left GE before agreeing to it), but they started dating in 2005 and never looked back. In 2007, he proposed at the Shore Club during a holiday in Miami. Consequently, the decorations and flowers at their wedding were inspired by the art-deco style of South Beach.
For their honeymoon, they visited the Golden Triangle in India – Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, with a brief stop in Kerala. They started and ended the trip in Dubai, spending their first night in the seven-star Burj al Arab hotel. Their visit to the Taj Mahal, however, was the defining moment, they agree.
They returned to their home in Terenure. Eoin is now a commercial director with GE Money and Suzanne works in HR for another Dublin finance company.
