When William and Emily Bunbury took over the running of Lisnavagh House in Tullow, Co Carlow, their daughter Roseanna was just two months old. Alice, their second daughter, arrived 15 months later.
Those early years of parenting have inspired Emily to organise quality time-out for mothers who are invited to sleep, stretch and savour good cooking over the course of a relaxing weekend, aided and abetted by Pamela Butler, a yoga instructor. Butler practices and teaches hatha yoga in the Shadow style, adapted from martial arts and dance. All levels will be welcome, including beginners. You can go in solitude or opt for the Groom’s Cottage, which sleeps up to five people – perfect for a yogic gathering of pals. A yoga weekend will cost €300 with a complimentary third night stay thrown in as a special introductory offer. This is a perfectly legitimate reward for having survived the summer and once you’ve got everyone back to school. The courses begin on September 17th. See lisnavagh.com/yoga.html for more details.
