Two enterprising jewellery design graduates Laura Caffrey and Claire Grennan are the brains behind irishdesignshop.ie, a website selling handmade Irish craft from 24 artists all over Ireland. Their collection has items ranging in price from €2.50 and €4 for cards and notebooks, up to €2,600 for a powder-coated timber cabinet by Jenny Walsh, and includes cushions, bags, scarves, mugs, jewellery, plates and cheese boards.

The website also features articles on the makers, compiled from their visits to them all around the country. Next Wednesday to Sunday they are staging a craft exhibition as part of Design Week, including work from 30 makers from all around the country, at Moxie Studios, Lad Lane, Dublin 2. Delicately patterned bowls by Andrew Ludick (€60, see right), and rustic yet modern stools by James Carroll (€120), are among the exhibits. On Sunday, they will screen all 37 episodes of the classic RTÉ series Hands. See designtreedublin.blogspot.com.
