Looking for a cosy house party with a difference, where you can sleep and dine in elegance with like-minded individuals? Try the Hidden Ireland Literary Season. The first event will be a celebration of the writings of MJ Farrell (Molly Keane) at Woodbrook House, Co Wexford on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 10th-12th.
Known for its “flying staircase”, this classic mid-sized historic house will host an intimate gathering of paying guests for a weekend devoted to the writings of Keane, under the guidance of writers and journalists Polly Devlin and Robert O’Byrne.
As well as talks, readings and discussion of the Keane’s books, the weekend will include visits to local landmarks with Molly Keane connections. And on Saturday evening, there will be theatrical entertainment based on one of MJ Farrell’s plays.
As well as BB, the weekend will include dinner on Friday, picnic lunch on Saturday (weather permitting) and supper, followed by evening entertainment, which is also open to non-staying guests, and a substantial brunch on Sunday morning. The number of staying guests will be limited, so early booking is advisable. The price of the weekend is €250 per person sharing (or €320 for single occupancy), with everything included except drinks.
